Springhill Cellars Home

Springhill Cellars ArtGreat wines are grown, not made . . .

That philosophy guides winemaking at Springhill Cellars. We put our greatest efforts into producing fruit of the highest quality and concentration and then interfere as little as possible in the process of coaxing it into the bottle. We produce 1,000-1,200 cases of wine each year, weather permitting.

Winery BuildingOur Pinot Noir yields are kept low, usually below two tons per acre. The Pinot is neither fined nor filtered; racking and pumping is kept to a minimum. It's aged a year in a variety of oak barrels to concentrate the fruit and balance it with rich oak tannins. The Gris is made in a rich, fruity style with some oak contact.

Visitors to Springhill Cellars often picnic at our tables, which overlook views repeatedly painted and sketched by local landscape artists. The tasting room is open weekends from 1-5 p.m. from the first weekend in May through November. We are also available for tasting by appointment.

Tasting RoomOur Federweisser Festival is the annual shindig we hold over the Thanksgiving weekend. This harvest festival is German in origin and pairs new, still fermenting Riesling (the Federweisser) with specially made bratwürst and Zwiebelkuchen (sweet onion tart), accompanied by "oom pah pah" music during the day and a live rock-n-roll band Saturday night for a truly unique experience.
