Springhill Cellars is a small family-owned winery producing award-winning Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris in the heart of Oregon's beautiful Willamette Valley. We also occasionally make a crisp, light and fruity Pinot Noir Rose’, which we call " Sagnee’ . "
The winery was founded in 1988 by Mike and Karen McLain and Karen's father, Merv Anthony. We draw our fruit primarily from the estate vineyard planted from 1978 to 1990 and from McLain Vineyard, our second 12 acres, planted from 1997-2000, in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA.
Winemaker Mike McLain is the founder of McLain & Associates Vineyard Properties, the oldest brokerage firm specializing exclusively in vineyard and winery property in the Willamette Valley.
Springhill Cellars winery is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 11:30 am - 5:30 pm, May through November.
Our popular annual Fedeweisser Festival is held Friday - Sunday after Thanksgiving. The night of the barn dance is determined by which night the Oregon vs Oregon State Civil War game is played: If the game is played on Saturday, the dance is held Friday and vice-versa.
Our "house band" is Shatterproof, which has rocked the rafters for the last several years. During the day we serve our wines and Federweisser, zwiebelkuchen, and wursts. The "oom-pa-pa" music playing in the background gives a nearly normal German flavor. No, we're not German. But that's a longer story . . .
We are serving a revolving menu of soups, salads, cheese and bread plates and seasonal ingredients fresh from our extensive gardens. We might even send you home with fresh produce . . .
The paper collage at left was created for us by artist and neighbor Anna Tewes. Springhill Cellars is proud to display her work on our labels and throughout our site.
